Atlanta’s Hip Hop “Champ,” Jawz Of Life, debuted his uplifting new single, “Get Back Up,” which features Miss C.C. LaFlor, yesterday and the song has been getting plenty of attention. Today (Feb. 27), “WorldWide Local” delivers the promotional video to accompany the inspirational track.
In the song, Jawz Of Life makes reference to Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old Florida teen, who was slain one year ago by self-proclaimed neighborhood watch volunteer, George Zimmerman. According to Jawz, until yesterday, he was unaware that he was releasing the song on the anniversary of the tragic occasion, but he does believe it to be divinely directed. “Get Back Up” is intended to heal and give hope to anyone who needs it. JOL plans on shooting an official video soon, and he’s looking to recruit the keen eye of award-winning director, William Feagins, Jr., who is responsible for many of the clips that you see in the promo.
With “Get Back Up” receiving tremendous acclaim after only one day, Jawz, is already planning his next move. He already has several songs that he’s considering for his next single, but as is evidenced with “Get Back Up,” timing is important, he says. Admittedly somewhat of a perfectionist, “Shelltoe Merlot,” is very considerate of the music that makes, and he hopes to be able to touch people from all walks of life.
For now, I’m sure #LifeSupporters will be riding to “Get Back Up” for a while. Check out the viral video and download your copy of the song below. Leave a comment and let us know if the song moves you. #SpeakLife
