Does it meet the hype. On a personal note, I feel all artists at a certain point in their career want to experiment with different sounds and ideas. This musical orgy between punk, hip-hop and reggae was brilliant. Lyrically, Kanye eluded to a a Five Percenter train of thought and referenced Caribbean roots; however, witty punch lines and clever wordplay didn't make up for lyrical composition. Clearly this is a record made for him by him with no clear plausible single insight, maybe with the exception of New Slave and possibly Bound 2. This t is a great personal record for fans that like and support Kanye West. Don't get me wrong there are good records on the album. I personally like I am God but that is because of my beliefs and understanding of the underlined message. I applaud Kanye for doing what he enjoys. Largely, because of his popularity and the collective marketing of his affiliations the record will do well. But, I don't feel it will be a viable radio success. Proving that Mobile is a Viable Option For a little over seven years we have been proving the theory that the internet and all its distribution channels are excellent alternative to the way we consume media content and entertainment. However, our voices are too fine over the loud roar to of the digital noise and our pockets too meager to make an impact. Jay-Z's partnership with Samsung for his new album, "Magna Carta Holy Grail," is another sign of how musicians are finding new ways to push, sell and promote their music.... I remember when we started. Fluctu8 Podcast Radio We are back with season Ten of #EarCheck after a 3 week wait. I want to take this time to thank our fans for their support over the past seven years. I remember when we started. It was the myspace era and artists where plentiful. Our listeners number and download where high. Mainly because streaming content on mobile devices wasn't and option. We supported the growth of independent artist from the Africa to the UK while paying homage to the classics. Our passion lied in the music of our youth and the expansion of a culture. As time progress so did the network. We share our virtual space with like minded people that had a passion for the culture, lifestyle and technology that drove this urban sub- culture. Before we knew it we had become a network of content producers. As technology driving the new media industry changed so did we. Myspace fell twitter took position and facebook became king. As a small business it was hard to navigate the field of emerging platform trends. As a result we looked to our journalism skills and took to the tech world for answers covering and report events like the CES, CE Week, SXSW and more. Our brand evolved into a media outlet for business professionals in engaged in music, entertainment and small business. We created a niche that helped the independent artists run effective business online, while supplying urban fans and entrepreneurs the same information than help us establish ourselves as a relevant business outside the music market. DIRadioCast was a pioneer in vlogging with it's weekly Dutty Talk hosted and monthly Teen Scene Project. As a compliment to the videos we did photo blogs via myspace to get our fans to support. Funny back then nothing exsist in the same place and a lot of content wasn't housed on our own personal platform. We learned the hard way when 1 million fans and six hundred shows went missing over night. In late 2007 when our 3rd party provider went offline with no warning. We learned our lesson and invested in a website and hosted our 3rd party player on our site but we had to rebuild the name after two years of success and this point myspace was dying and fans were scattered as people tried to create their own social networks via the ning platform. (What a disaster.) At this point we wanted a platform that could support both audio and video distribution at a higher quality. Sounds crazy now but in 2007 early 2008 that didn't exist. We found the mevio platform and introduced the on-demend video show Smart is the New Cool host by local Atlanta Hip-hop host Dres The Beatnik and his then manager Dirt'e.While the show was short lived it help us expand our network brand and new media offerings. In late 2010 Mevio became a video only platform and we were out of a 3rd party home, yet again. We tried a few platforms but nothing offered what we need. It was then that we created the idea for a new media network where all new media content would be housed on our platform. This would ensure that we never lose content and our clients, fans and supporters could have access to archived content via membership. It has been three years since the switch and the network is flourishing. Thank you for you loyal support and being apart of a changing industry.
